| Anne Ryan has been a professional photojournalist for 22 years, spending ten of those years as a staff photographer for USA Today. As one of only six USA Today staff photographers, she covered major events all over the country and around the world, including Superbowls, Olympics, spot news and political conventions. In September 2000 she decided to go out on her own as a freelance photographer, partnering with her freelance photographer husband John Zich to form zrimages.com. Anne continues her close relationship with USA Today as a contract photographer but also works for Newsweek, BusinessWeek, Sports Illustrated, Nike, Caterpillar and numerous other publications and corporations. Anne’s new images are represented by Polaris Images in New York. Anne began her photojournalism career as a junior at University of Illinois. During college she was a photo intern at the Palm Beach Post and The State Journal-Register. Upon graduation she was hired as a staff photographer at the South Florida Sun-Sentinel in Fort Lauderdale. She worked there as a general assignment photographer for five years until she accepted a staff position based in her hometown of Chicago for USA Today. Anne and John reside on the north side of Chicago and have three sons, Pete, 15, Andy, 15 and Will, 7. |
